RENNES, France — April 26, 2012 The SVC4QoE consortium has successfully concluded a project that demonstrates the potential of combined Scalable Video Coding (SVC) and Quality of Experience (QoE) technologies to improve mobile multimedia services while reducing broadcasters’ capital and operational costs.

RENNES, France — April 16, 2012 — Thomson Video Networks has announced that Trinity Broadcast Network (TBN) has chosen Thomson’s Sapphire broadcast server for at least 18 of its 34 local broadcast stations. The installation of Sapphire servers is part of TBN’s initiative to improve picture quality and provide for easier localization.

RENNES, France — April 15, 2012 — Thomson Video Networks today announced it is working with Florida-based system integrator Broadcast International Group (BIG) to build a groundbreaking new television service for Haiti as the country recovers from the devastating earthquake of 2010. Haiti’s sole cable television station was destroyed in the disaster, leaving all but capital city Port au Prince without local television until the new service goes live in May 2012.
