XMS Network Management System

XMS Network Management SystemThomson XMS™ Management System gives service providers a suite of software tools for controlling and monitoring any digital television system, from broadcasting over satellite, terrestrial, cable, IPTV, and mobile TV networks, to contribution and primary distribution over IP, PDH, SONET/SDH, or ATM backbones.

The XMS system manages more than 50 types of Thomson SD and HD, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 compression and processing equipment, including ViBE and NetProcessor digital content delivery platforms, as well as third-party equipment.

With redundancy at all stages of the systems, XMS™ presents a unique design to deliver fault-tolerant system architecture. The proposed architecture supports N+P redundancy for a pool of IRDs, encoders, multiplexers, or modulators in hybrid ASI / IP infrastructures to guarantee 100% service availability.

XMS™ provides standard interfaces to most conditional access systems as well as built-in scheduling capacity to manage services with complex and dynamic commercial packages including content time-sharing, Free-to-air to payTV transitions, pay-per-view, service regionalization.
